A PROLIFIC shoplifter who breached an order banning him from all the shops in Malvern has been jailed.

Mark Spragg spent Christmas behind bars after a number of thefts in Malvern.

Spragg, aged 43, appeared in court on Monday (December 23) where he was sentenced to 12 months in prison for the thefts and breaches of his Criminal Behaviour Order.

In January, Spragg was given a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which barred him from all shops in the town.

Spragg’s order, granted on Thursday, January 4 at Worcester Magistrates Court, also stopped him from going to two Worcester supermarkets- Sainsbury's on Windermere Drive and Asda on Silver Street.

He was also prohibited from entering any retail premises in the company of a named individual.

Dee Stanley from the Kempsey and Alfrick Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Mark Spragg, aged 43 appeared in court on December 23 where he was sentenced to 12 months in prison for a number of thefts and breaches of his Criminal Behaviour Order which had occurred in Malvern."
