A WOMAN has been seriously injured after it took an hour to free her from a crashed car.
Emergency services, including Midlands Air Ambulance, were on the scene of a tractor and car crash on the A4103 and B4214 in Bishops Frome.
The woman was trapped inside her car and fire crews worked for an hour to release her from the vehicle.
West Mercia Police closed the A4103 between Cradley and Newtown Crossroads due to the incident.
One ambulance, A MERIT doctor with a Critical Care Paramedic, a BASICS doctor from the Mercian Accident Rescue Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, we discovered one patient, a woman, who was trapped inside her car.
“Ambulance staff worked closely with other emergency service colleagues to free the woman, a process which took more than an hour.
“She was treated for serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.”
“The tractor driver was uninjured in the incident.”
West Mercia Police have confirmed the road has now reopened.
They added: "Thank you for your patience. Have a safe journey."
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "Two crews – one each from Bomyard and Hereford Fire Stations – were called at 7.06am on June 11 to a road traffic collision on the A4103 at Fromes Hill.
"The incident involved a tractor and a car with both vehicles on all four wheels.
"A female casualty was medically trapped and released by fire service personnel before being handed over to the care of the ambulance service, who attended along with police and air ambulance.
"The A4103 remains closed in both directions and crews are still at the scene."
