A MAN has been given a warning after being caught riding a motorbike on a field.

The 22-year-old was given a section 59 warning notice by West Mercia Police after riding on a farmer's field off Mayfield Road on Saturday, June 8.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The field is owned by Madresfield estates who do not give permission for anyone to ride or drive motor vehicles on the land.

"Over the years people who have ridden motorbikes on the field tell police that they have permission from the land owner, we know that this is simply not the case.

"We want that message to go out to those who are thinking of doing so, you do not have permission.

"The area is used by members of the public to walk their dogs and there has previously been criminal damage caused by such actions.

"Such actions are likely to cause alarm, harassment and distress.

"The issued warning notice lasts for 12 months, if the male is witnessed to ride or drive any motorised in such a manner in that time period, the vehicle will be seized.

"We work closely with our community members to help keep Malvern safe and we will continue to patrol such areas."

A section 59 notice refers to vehicles being used in a manner which causes alarm, distress or annoyance.
