A secluded, family run manor house turned B&B, operating for less than 15 years, has been named as one of the top hotels in the country.

Abbots Grange Manor House in Broadway has been named the tenth best B&B and Inn in the UK by Tripadvisor.

Tripadvisor said that reviewers praised the hotel for its warm and intimate charm.

Richard Taee, owner of Abbots Grange Manor House said: "We are absolutely delighted with this accomplishment, its a big accolade and we are very proud.

"We are not a big B&B as we only have nine rooms, we have a small team of staff, we try to do things differently to other hotels.

"We are into the detail and really care about the experience that our guests have.

"We try to offer a private, exclusive, intimate service and we have loads of guests return year after year.

The building is the oldest in Broadway, with some areas dating back to as early as 1320.

The B&B also feature its own helipad for guests wanting to take a more scenic travel route through the Cotswolds.

Mr Taee continued: "We host our fair share of celebrities and they often like to arrive by helicopter, but many of our regular guests also use it.

"I think what attracts celebrities is the fact that they can hire the whole house.

"Given that we only have nine rooms, its a good size and its private."

Mr Taee first bought the property in 1998 with no intention of starting a B&B, claiming that he just "fell into it".

Falling in love with the building along with wife Topsy, the pair opened the manor house in 2010 after becoming empty nesters.

The B&B is now managed by daughter in law, Stacey Heeks.

Mr Taee said: "My wife and I love the property and the architecture is part of the reason that it attracts the number of guests that it does.

"We bought the building to raise our three children, and after they had all grown up and we became empty nesters, we fell into this by accident.

"We only started on a small scale with four rooms, but we have since expanded to nine rooms because of how successful it has become."
