A trio of new welcome signs have been installed in Upton.

The signs replace previous ones across the district as part of a review by Malvern Hills District Council, and are located at the three main entrances to Upton - Hanley Road, Upton Marina, and the A4104 by Old Welland Road.

The signs were funded by the council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), a central pillar of the UK Government’s 'Levelling Up' agenda providing £2.6 billion of funding for community investment by March 2025.

The fund focuses on instilling residents' pride in their area, and creating opportunities across the UK by investing in communities, community businesses, people, and skills.

Cllr Beverley Nielsen, portfolio holder for tourism and economic development, said: "These signs will provide a lovely refresh to the town and a nice welcome for visitors.

"We are in the process of replacing signage in all our towns to improve navigation for pedestrians, visitors, residents and motorists."
