A new Dik Dik antelope has joined the residents at All Things Wild in Honeybourne.

Arriving on her first birthday, "Twiglet" made the move from Wild Discovery in Blackpool on February 28.

She moved as part of a European breeding program between zoos to ensure diversity and prevent inbreeding.

Matt Parker, Animal ranger at All Things Wild, said: "She joined us on February 28 after a quick trip down the M6.

"Dik Dik are monogamous and so connecting the correct individuals is important.

"We are currently in the process of finding her the right partner.

Dik Dik antelope are native to Eastern and Southern Africa, and are amongst the smallest antelope in the world, measuring between 30-40cm tall.

Mr Parker continued: "Dik Dik get their name from the noise they make whilst running away.

"They also have striking eyes with large scent glands.

"They mark their territory by rubbing their tear ducts on the surrounding area."
