MOURNERS have covered the scene of a fatal crash which killed two women and a boy aged six in a sea of flowers and tributes as the people of the city unite in grief.
Throughout the weekend more and more people arrived to lay flowers and leave personal messages at the scene of a fatal crash on the A44 Spetchley Road in Worcester.
Some stopped and knelt to read the cards, holding back tears as they paid their respects and reflected on a tragedy which has shocked the city.
The number of tributes continued to grow throughout Saturday and Sunday near the entrance to Spetchley Park Gardens following the crash on Thursday.
One message read: "Our hearts go out to everyone at this difficult time. Taken far too soon. RIP with love Claire, Lee, Josh and Livie xxx."
Another card said 'why is life so cruel?' and described one of the women who died as 'one in a million'.
One bouquet had a message attached which read: "All taken too soon. Rest in peace. Love Colin and Gina xxxx."
Teddy bears and children's drawings were also left as part of the tributes.
Messages on cards read 'rest in peace' and 'RIP little man, you won't ever be forgotten'.
The crash happened at around 3pm on Thursday when a white BMW 3 series collided with a white Ford Mondeo.
Despite efforts from paramedics the driver of the Mondeo, a woman aged 26, and the passenger, a woman aged 39 were pronounced dead at the scene.
A six-year-old boy, who was also in the Mondeo, was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, but died shortly after arrival.
Two men, both occupants of the BMW, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries.
Chief Inspector Mark Davidson said: “This is an incredibly sad incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who have sadly died. I urge anybody who witnessed the collision or may have dash-cam footage to contact the police as you may be able to help with our investigation into what happened."

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 3.07pm on Thursday to the A44 in Spetchley and sent five ambulances, four paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and two Midlands Air Ambulances from Cosford and Strensham to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews discovered five patients.
“Two women and a male child from the first car were in critical conditions.
“The child received advanced life support before being conveyed on blue lights via land ambulance to Worcester Royal Hospital but sadly, shortly after arrival, it became clear he could not be saved and was confirmed dead.
“Medics administered advanced life support to both female patients but unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, they could not be saved and were confirmed dead.
“There were two male patients from the second car.
“The first man was treated for life-threatening injuries and taken to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham via land ambulance for further treatment.
“The second man, the driver, had suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and was conveyed via land ambulance to the same hospital.
“Ambulance staff were grateful for the assistance of police and fire colleagues at the scene as all three emergency services worked well together in what were extremely difficult circumstances.”
The crash happened near Spetchley Park Gardens with a spokesperson writing on Facebook: "I am filled with sadness today, there was a terrible car crash just outside of our main gate yesterday.
"It reminded me of how thankful I am for everyone in my life.
"I wanted to say our thoughts and prayers are with all those and their families involved yesterday.
"And to say stay safe to all of you."
