A charity which provides infant feeding support groups enjoyed a successful launch event as it rebranded.

The Malvern Hills National Childbirth Trust (NCT) Baby Café was previously known as "Baby Latte" before opting for a new name.

The rebranding event, at the Green Room in Malvern Cube, was packed with a diverse audience from caregivers to parents and respected guests.

Councillor Clive Hooper, Mayor of Malvern, who praised the individuals devoted to supporting local parents, was also in attendance.

A special acknowledgement was made to Carol, a major figure from the NCT head office, who was thanked for her support and contributions.

The National Lottery Community Fund was also commended for its role in financially supporting the NCT Baby Café's mission.

A cake from Kerry’s Cakes, arranged by Malvern Cube added an appetising touch to the occasion.

Frances Thurlow, breastfeeding counsellor and a core team member since 2005, was delighted by the turnout.

She said: "The event was really well attended, and parents appreciate the encouragement and friendship they get from others in the group."

Ms Thurlow also reminisced about "Baby Latte" attendees who are now preparing for university, emphasising the enduring support the group has offered over the years.

The breastfeeding counsellor team, made up of Mair Sherliker, Frances Thurlow, Charlene Jarman, and Anna Denne, received universal acclaim for their enduring commitment.

Frances said: "It continues to be a privilege for us to help families on their feeding journeys, providing practical and emotional support at a transitional moment in parents’ lives."

The event was a milestone in the group’s history but the NCT Baby Café will carry on offering parental support and building a community for early parenthood in Malvern.

NCT Baby Café is a free drop-in, run by qualified NCT Breastfeeding Counsellors, which supports parents to feed their babies.

The group offers support to all parents with varying feeding methods, including breastfeeding, formula feeding, and introducing solid foods to infants.

Over the years, the group has relocated multiple times, residing in a few different locations including Prospect View, Children’s Centres, and finally since 2019, the Green Room at Malvern Cube.
