THE following cases were heard at Worcester Magistrates Court.

 

THOMAS SWEET, of Saltway, Droitwich, admitted possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place. 

The 44-year-old committed the offence on December 13 last year in Swan Drive, Droitwich - Sweet carrying a kitchen knife.

Sweet's sentencing was adjourned until February 23, for an update on the defendant's health.

Sweet was given unconditional bail.

The case was heard on January 26.

 

LUCAS ROGUSZKA, of Paddock Hill, Droitwich, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

The 39-year-old committed the offence on June 17 last year in Worcester.

His case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

Roguska, who has unconditional bail, was told to return to Worcester Magistrates Court on February 29.

The case was heard on January 26.

 

LEO CARROLL, of Park View Terrace, Worcester, admitted assault by beating. 

The offence was committed on November 14 last year in Worcester. 

The 22-year-old case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

Carroll was told to attend his sentence at Worcester Magistrates Court on February 23. 

The defendant was given unconditional bail. 

The case was heard on January 26.

 

RICHARD LEWIS, of Albany Terrace, Worcester, who was set to face a trial for drink driving changed his plea ahead of his trial at the court on January 29. 

The court heard the 44-year-old was caught driving a Volkswagen Passat on Britannia Square, Worcester, on May 5 last year when Lewis had 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg. 

Lewis was disqualified from driving for 14 months but was offered the chance to do the drink-drive awareness course which, if successfully completed, will reduce the ban length by 14 weeks. 

Lewis was fined £135, ordered to pay costs of £200 and £54 victim surcharge. 

 

ELISHA JACKSON, of The Rye Lea, Droitwich, was found guilty in her absence of drunk and disorderly. 

The court heard the 24-year-old committed the offence on September 17 last year in Barbourne Road, Worcester. 

Jackson was fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £400, £88 victim surcharge. 

Magistrates ordered the full amount of £708 being paid in full within 28 days. 

The case was heard on January 29.

 

GARY STONE, of Fairfax Way, Rushwick, Worcester, changed his plea and admitted assault by beating of an emergency worker when he appeared at the court on January 29. 

The court heard the 53-year-old committed the offence on December 21 last year in Worcester, Stone assaulting PC Langley-Waylen. 

Stone was fined £210 and was ordered to pay £50 compensation to the police officer. 

Stone was also ordered to pay £200 costs and £76 victim surcharge. 

Magistrates ordered the total amount of £536 be paid at a rate of £40 a month. 

The case was heard on January 29.

 

WILLIAN BRISTOW, of Carrock Fell, Worcester, admitted drug driving.

The court heard the 19-year-old committed the offence on May 4 last year in Worcester. 

Bristow was caught driving a Honda Civic on Castle Street, Worcester, when the amount of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (a breakdown of cannabis) in his blood was above the legal limit. 

Bristow was banned from driving for a year. He was also fined £280 and told to pay £135 costs and £112 victim surcharge.

The case was heard at the court on January 29.
