Readers of the Swindon Advertiser are being invited to a special forum to meet the editor and discuss the future of the town's historic newspaper.

The Adver is one of the oldest provincial newspapers in the country but is hoping to take on the town's citizens' views on what it wants from its local paper in the coming years.

Editor Daniel Chipperfield said: "I am keen to hear a wide range of views and opinions on what people like about the Advertiser as well as what they would like to see changed to improve it.

"I want to make sure our newspaper is serving the town as well as it can, and to be as enjoyable a read as possible. And to do that properly, Adver readers should be involved."

Successful entrants will get to meet our news team and get a better insight of how a modern newsroom works.

The free event is due to be held from 11am on Tuesday, January 30 and will involve an introduction and tour from Daniel as well as a period of discussion about the newspaper.

There are limited spaces available. To enter please email daniel.chipperfield@newsquest.co.uk or call 01793 501806 with your full name and address as well as a small introduction about yourself.
