The following cases were heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on January 4.

 

WILLIAM OLEKSY, of Jasmine Road, Malvern, has admitted drink driving. 

The 42-year-old was caught driving a Ford Transit Van on December 10 last year in Jasmine Road, Malvern. 

Oleksy gave a specimen of breath which showed he had 92mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg. 

Oleksy was given a one-year community order with 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days. 

He was disqualified for 36 months, which will be reduced by 36 weeks if he completes a drink-drive awareness course. 

Oleksy was fined £384, ordered to pay costs of £135 and £114 victim surcharge. 

 

CLEMENT MCCOAN, of Worcester Road, Wychbold, Droitwich, admitted drink driving and possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place. 

The court heard the 61-year-old had a folding pocket knife in Lickey Hills, Rosehill, Bromsgrove, on December 18 last year. 

McCoan also drove a Suzuki on Rosehill, Bromsgrove on December 17 this year, when he had 43mcg in 100ml of breath - exceeding the drink drive limit of 35mcg. 

McCoan was jailed for four months, magistrates saying they were suspending sentence for a year due to the defendant's ill health. 

The defendant was banned for 38 months. 

He was fined £80, ordered to pay costs of £185 and £154 victim surcharge.

GLEN HOWELL, of Hall Green Road, West Bromwich, admitted drink driving in Spetchley near Worcester. 

The 50-year-old was caught driving a Scania lorry on the M5 between Junction 6 and Junction 7 on November 8 last year. 

Howell gave a specimen of breath which had 93mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg. 

Howell was given a one-year community order with 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days. 

He was also banned from driving for 24 months which will be reduced by 15 weeks if he successfully completes a drink-drive awareness course.

Howell was fined £80 and ordered to pay costs of £135, £114 victim surcharge. 

 

LISA MARKLAND, of Burlingham Square, Worcester, admitted using a vehicle on a road without insurance. 

The 50-year-old drove a Citroen Xsara Picasso on Victoria Avenue, Worcester, without insurance on October 19 last year.

Markland was given eight penalty points for the offence, meaning she had reached 12 on her licence making her a totter. 

She was given a 12-month driving ban. 

Markland was fined £120, and ordered to pay costs of £135 and £48 victim surcharge. 

 

CHRISTOPHER WILSON, of Thatchers Place, Droitwich, admitted driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance. 

The 34-year-old drove a Ford Mondeo on Ford Lane, Elmbridge, on July 11 last year when he committed the driving offences. 

Wilson was given a one-year community order requiring he complete 200 hours of unpaid work.

He was banned from driving for a year.

Wilson was also ordered to pay costs of £135.
