A series of road safety drop-in sessions will be held in a bid to make Worcestershire’s roads less dangerous.

The drop-in sessions are part of Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) John Campion’s Roads Focus campaign and will be conducted in partnership with West Mercia Police, local councils and council highways teams.

The sessions will run throughout January and will present an opportunity for residents to voice their concerns about road safety.

John Campion, PCC, said: “I hear regularly from residents across West Mercia about road safety concerns.

"Building on the successful relaunch of the campaign in Herefordshire, I have identified key areas to visit following correspondence where the public can have their say.

“At the heart of my Safer West Mercia Plan is a commitment to make roads safer in West Mercia as it’s a sad fact that too many people are killed or seriously injured on our roads.

“Each roadshow event will bring together key partners and West Mercia Police to ensure residents have a platform to have their voice heard and play a key part in making change in the community.”

The campaign will also feature free driver awareness sessions, ran by TTC, to improve public knowledge of the Highway Code and overall driving behaviour.

Drop-in sessions include January 10 at The Cube in Malvern, January 16 in Wythall,  January 17 at St George's Hall in Bewdley, and January 25 at The Lifford Hall, Broadway.

The free driver awareness sessions will take place on January 23 and 31 via Zoom from 6pm to 7.30pm.
