Three people have been injured in a crash near Malvern.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash on the Madresfield Road at Guarlford at about 9.30pm last night (Wednesday, December 13).

The fire service said two people - a woman in her 60s and a man in his 40s - were freed by firefighters after being trapped in one of the vehicles.

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews - one each from Malvern and Upton upon Severn Fire Stations - were called,” said a fire service spokesman.

“The incident involved two vehicles with a female casualty in her 60s medically trapped and a male casualty in his 40s mechanically trapped.

“Both were extricated by fire service personnel who also made the vehicle safe for recovery.

“Occupants of the second vehicle had left the scene.

“The two casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service, who attended along with police.

“Madresfield Road was closed in both directions.”

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a two-car collision on Madresfield Road in Malvern around 9.30pm last night.

“Fire and ambulance service attended. Three people suffered minor injuries.”
