With December just days away, Malvern is getting into the Christmas spirit this week.

From a good old Christmas concert to some Johnny Cash classics, there's definitely a few picks for music enthusiasts in this week's offerings.

Northern Soul Night

Malvern Cube is opening its doors on Saturday (December 2) for a Northern Soul Night, beginning at 7pm.

DJs John Farrell, Steve Lloyd and Rob Hurcomb will spin northern soul, tamla motown, club soul and reggae records on the Cube's newly restored wooden dance floor.

Drinks are available from the bar, which is also open from 7pm.

£7.50 entry is payable only in cash at the door.

An Early Christmas Concert with Orchestra Pro Anima

On Sunday (December 3) An Early Christmas Concert with Orchestra Pro Anima at Christ Church begins at 3pm.

Tickets range from free to £19, depending on the seats.

The concert features a mix of Baroque and classical music directed by violinist Michael Bochmann.

Attendees can expect to hear compositions from the English composer William Boyce, along with two 'Christmas Concertos' – one by Corelli, and an upbeat piece by Antonio Vivaldi.

The second half will showcase a Violin Concerto by Mozart and an orchestral arrangement of the Christmas Carol.

A Swinging Big Band Christmas

Malvern Big Band is hosting A Swinging Big Band Christmas on Saturday (December 2) beginning at 7.30pm at Colwall Village Hall.

The 17-piece big band will perform a set of classics, before moving onto Christmas favourites with special guest vocalists, Garry Rutter and Nicole Warfield.

Tickets for the event are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children aged 16 and under, with purchases made either on the Malvern Big Band website or in cash at the door.

Opera Show

Malvern Theatres will host Wild Arts' popular Opera Show, in which audiences will explore a compelling, emotional and humorous plot following four characters through classic opera and lesser-known songs alike.

Compositions by artists such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Puccini and Mozart will all feature in the show, which will take place on Sunday (December 3) at 3pm.

Award-winning Galina Averina stars alongside Timothy Nelson, Martha Jones and Richard Dowling.
