A witness appeal has been launched by police following an assault outside a Malvern supermarket.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team (NCFT) in south Worcestershire are appealing for witnesses to an assault outside the One Stop Shop in Pickersleigh Road in Malvern on Monday, August 16 at around 6.15pm.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two more men are being sought in relation to the attack where the victim was approached by a group of five men.

The victim was allegedly confronted by the group after leaving the shop. They had made threats towards him in what is believed to be an isolated offence.

One of them was in possession of a combat knife but this was not used in the assault.

After making threats, they then allegedly punched, kicked, and stamped on the victim before leaving the scene.

Fortunately, the injured man was seen by paramedics who happened to be passing by.

He was examined and deemed to have minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.
