MEET the owner of a unique escape room business which travels to various events across the county and the UK.

Ali Euston, of Malvern Wells, is the owner of Mini Mind Quests, a mobile escape room business and has visited some of the biggest events in the county this year.

You may have spotted the business at the Mello Music Festival, Pershore Plum Festival and Wacky Weekender at Pitchcroft, in Worcester, to name a few.

Ms Euston has a passion for escape rooms and has said she loves her job.

She said: "I love running it - it's so nice to have my art form appreciated. I design and build all the clues myself and love watching the smiling faces as they leave the room.

"Everyone so far has had a lovely experience in my two escape rooms, which are pirate-themed and Alice in Wonderland themed.

"I've been very blessed to have many friends who are so supportive and have helped me on this journey."

Ms Euston moved to Malvern Wells from Ireland in 2018 and was no stranger to escape rooms before she arrived in the Worcestershire town.

She said: "I was first introduced to escape rooms with my cousin in Florida in 2015. I returned from my visit and knew it was what I wanted to do.

"I set up in a building in a town called Athlone in Southern Ireland, which had two rooms, both accommodating up to ten people each, with five different themes cycled between the two rooms.

"I left Ireland in 2018 with enough clues and props to set up one room housed in a gazebo."

Ms Euston decided to move away from the gazebo, calling it an unsustainable business model.

She said: "The problem with gazebos is that they are weather dependent and my one needed at least a 10' x 10' flat area of ground, which was difficult to find in Malvern.

"I put it on a back burner until August last year when I bought an old caravan off a stable yard for £320 and converted it with a friend into the pirate-themed escape room.

"It was full of junk, but by the time I'd stripped it out with a friend and sold everything, we then spent all winter putting down floorboards and fitting out the pirates-themed room."

Ms Euston has a plan to introduce a third escape room into her growing roster in the near future.

She said: "The plan over the coming winter is to find another old but towable caravan and convert it to an Egyptian-themed room by Easter next year."
