A MAN in his 60s has been taken to hospital following a fall at a quarry near Malvern.
Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Malvern Fire Station, including an off-road vehicle, were called at 6.14pm yesterday to assist the ambulance service at Earnslaw Quarry, Wyche Road, Malvern.
Crews used a scoop stretcher to convey a male casualty in his 60s to a land ambulance following a fall. The incident was marked as pending closure at 8.33pm.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at around 5.40pm to a medical incident at Earnslaw Quarry in the Malvern Hills, Worcester. An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a male patient with potentially serious injuries. He was treated by ambulance staff at the scene before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment."
