A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a crash which led to a fuel spill.

The crash happened on Pickersleigh Road, Malvern yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, June 14).

Two cars were involved and a woman was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called out to a fuel spill after a road traffic collision in Malvern at 5.18pm on Wednesday.

“One Worcester Fire Station crew attended Pickersleigh Road, near the junction with Pickersleigh Avenue, after the two-car incident.

“No people were trapped and one female casualty in her 60s was taken to hospital via a private vehicle.

“Oil had been spilt over the road and the highways agency was requested to attend.

“The junction was blocked and the incident was left with the police by the Worcester crew at 6.46pm.”

Two ambulances were also sent to the scene but were later stood down.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Pickersleigh Road in Malvern at 5.15pm.

"Two ambulances were sent to the scene however we were stood down by fire colleagues prior to arrival as we were no longer required."
