Two Worcestershire hotels have been shortlisted for awards by the Good Spa Guide.

Both the Malvern Hotel & Spa and the Elms Hotel and Spa in Abberley have been named as finalists in the Good Spa Awards 2023.

The annual awards showcase excellence in the UK spa industry with members of the public invited to vote for their favourites.

Winners will be announced during a gala dinner at Spa Life UK’s annual conference at the Cotswolds Water Park Hotel on Monday, July 3.

“We are excited to share that voting is now open for the Good Spa Guide Awards 2023,” said Good Spa Guide director Caitlin Dalton.

“We can’t wait to celebrate the incredible achievements from British spas in categories as diverse as eco-conscious and wellness.

“With more and more spas opening up outside spaces, this year we have a new category: best spa garden. We look forward to announcing the results at Spa Life UK on Monday, July 3.”

The Malvern Hotel & Spa is nominated in the Best Day Spa category, while The Elms is in the running for Best Boutique Spa.

Zoe Merriman, spa manager at the The Greenhouse Spa at the Elms, said: “We are absolutely thrilled. We were nominated last year but didn’t win at the final, so to be nominated again is fab.

“We had a full refurbishment in 2021 and since then the spa has really taken off.

“Awards in the spa industry are few and far between - these are the biggest awards that we could be involved in so we’re really thrilled.

“Last year we won best spa in the West Midlands and Wales. This is the other side of the awards, which are split into types and we’re nominated for best boutique spa, which fits for us.

“We’re the epitome of a boutique spa - we’re small, but mighty.”

As well as having the awards night to look forward to, the Elms will also be paid an anonymous visit by the Good Spa Guide’s ‘spa spy’.

Zoe described the impending visit as “a bit frightening” but admitted the spa was awarded the highest possible rating following last year’s visit.
