THE county's 'coronation champions' can now be nominated as part of an awards sceheme to celebrate the dedicated work of volunteers.
The new Lord-Lieutenant for Worcestershire says she is keen to shine the spotlight on the fantastic work that volunteers do around the county, and see the county well-represented with nominations at the Coronation Champions Awards.
The Coronation Champions Awards is an official Coronation project and will celebrate the amazing contributions volunteers have made from across the UK, and how they have overcome adversity or discovered creative ways to support their local communities.
Nominations for the Awards close at 12.59 pm on Sunday, April 2.

Mrs Beatrice Grant, Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, said: “Supporting the county’s diverse communities is something I am passionate about and looking to develop during my role.
"From my time as Chairman of Worcestershire’s King’s Award for Voluntary Service, I know that there are many worthy candidates in Worcestershire for the Coronation Champions Award, so please spread the word and nominate our County’s Champions.”
Volunteers, who are nominated for the awards, must be over the age of 14, and must have worked within the last five years in one of the following categories:
• Supporting older people
• Supporting young people and children
• Crisis and welfare
• Community
• Sports, culture and heritage
• Health and care
• Sustainability and the environment
• Animal welfare
