Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-car crash in Malvern.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were alerted to a crash, at the junction of Imperial Road and Avenue Road, shortly before 10am.

One ambulance was sent to the scene, with crews finding two patients upon arrival.

A woman was assessed by the staff who decided she did not require hospital treatment and was subsequently discharged at the scene.

A man involved did not want to be assessed by ambulance staff and was also discharged, a WMAS spokesperson confirmed.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Malvern Fire Station was called out at 10.08am.

They found two cars involved in the collision, with no people being trapped as a result.

“Firefighters made the vehicles safe while Avenue Road was closed in both directions,” a HWFRS spokesperson added.

“Two people were left in the care of the ambulance and the incident was left with the police.

“The incident was marked as pending closure for HWFRS at 10.34am.”

The crash caused disruption to First Worcester’s 44 bus service, which had to divert via Barnards Green.

However, at around 12.30pm on Thursday, February 9, the service returned to its normal route with the road now reopened.

West Mercia Police has been contacted for further information.
