ILLEGAL tobacco products have been seized during a trading standards raid.

Worcestershire Trading Standards officers gathered two big bags of over-sized vapes and illegal tabacco during raids in Malvern.

It explained the legal maximum tank size for an e-cigarette is 2ml - around 600 puffs - and all of the seized items contained considerably more.

According to Gov.uk, the requirements for e-cigarettes in the Uk are:

  • Restrict e-cigarette tanks to a capacity of no more than 2ml

  • Ban certain ingredients including colourings, caffeine and taurine
  • Include new labelling requirements and warnings
  • Require all e-cigarettes and e-liquids be notified and published by the MHRA before they can be sold

The MHRA, Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, is the competent authority for a notification scheme for e-cigarettes and refill containers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
