A Malvern takeaway is giving away 100 free burgers to say thank you for the town’s warm welcome.

Hillbilly’s Street Kitchen opened in Malvern Link just a few months ago.

But it has already been so well received that the team wants to give back to the community that has been supporting it.

The big giveaway takes place on Wednesday, December 14 at 6pm at the takeaway in Worcester Road.

It’ll be a case of first come, first served and the first 100 people to turn up will get a free burger. A vegan option will also be available.

The giveaway is taking place outside of Hillbilly’s usual opening hours but there will be the option for people to buy chips and drinks to go with their free burger - but no cash payments will be taken.

Burger-hunters are also being warned to wrap up warm as a queue is expected.

Molly Brittain, from Hillbilly’s, said: “We’ve had such great support from the community that we wanted to give something back. We know times are tough for people at the moment so we thought we’d give some burgers away.

“People say there’s no such thing as a free meal, well this time there is.

“This is our thank you for the fantastic support we have received from the Malvern community, and to recognise that not everyone will be able to afford to try our food at the moment.

“We do big burgers - burgers with mac and cheese and onion rings, that type of thing. We have loaded fries, ribs, chicken wings and some great vegan options too such as jackfruit fries.

“We’re takeaway only and based in the centre of Malvern Link and it’ll be first come, first served on the day.”

The Hillbilly’s menu features a range of burgers including the Boss Man Smash Burger, which comprises a double beef patty, monterey jack cheese, pulled brisket, onion rings and burger sauce.

There is also the Natalie Portman (vegan) option, which is made up of a panko ‘chicken’ burger, satay sauce, raw slaw, garlic aioli and baby gem lettuce.
