Alex Hawes said: "Both myself and Amy worked at The Shack previously and when the owner was looking to sell the business, we could not pass up on the opportunity to give it a go.

"It took around seven weeks to get the business ready to open, with new furniture and renovations to the kitchen.

"We are just really happy and excited for the journey and cannot wait to see the customers."

The cafe features a playroom for customers with young children and is also dog friendly.

The interior features colourful furniture and a wooden design on the walls and ceiling.

Cllr Shirley Dobbin, Mayor of Upton-upon-Severn, said: "I think it is really important that we as a community support the new cafe.

"They have a lot to offer and to open a new business at this time of year is a great thing for the town.

"It is always lovely to see a new business open so being able to open it officially wth the owners was excellent."

The Shack, which was formerly based in the building, was also a cafe and the building also formerly housed Upton-upon-Severn Wines.
