Thieves broke into Malvern Theatre in the middle of the night.

West Mercia Police officers are investigating a burglary at one of Malvern's most famous sites, the theatre complex on Grange Road.

PC Jo Tredwell said that the offender, or offenders, broke into the theatre in the early hours of yesterday morning and stole items.

The stolen items were removed in black bins and possibly a small wheelie bin, the West Mercia officer added.

The incident happened sometime between 1am and 2am on Thursday, October 13.

Police are now looking to speak with anyone who may have further information.

PC Tredwell said: "If you witnessed any suspicious activity around the theatre or in Great Malvern town centre between 1am and 2am on October 13 please contact police on 101 or online using incident number 00030_I_13102022.

*UPDATE*

West Mercia Police has provided an update on the burglary.

A spokesperson for the force has confirmed that the offender(s) forced entry to the theatre via a window.

They then proceeded to steal a "small quantity of alcohol".

Officers are eager to hear from anyone who saw or captured on dash cam anything that could assist with their investigation.
