THE wait is finally over for one of Malvern's most important annual events.

The Malvern Autumn Show began today (September 25) at the Three Counties Showground, as growers and producers from across the region gathered to show off their work.

One of the key attractions on day one of the festival is the arrival of the giant fruit and vegetables ahead of the CANNA UK Giant Vegetable Championship.

Held each year at the festival, the event regularly sees new world records set for the largest and heaviest fruit and veg.

The show is open from 9am to 6pm, with last admittance at 4pm each day.

Tickets are also available on the gate for anyone who has not pre-booked.

On every day of the festival there are food attractions including the Food and Drink Village and Food For Thought Cafe, as well as vintage teas and mobile catering available throughout.

In the Garden Theatre, guest speakers will be sharing their knowledge and experience.

On Friday and Saturday, Adam Frost will share his passion for inspiring people of all ages to embark on their own horticultural journey.

On Sunday, Frances Tophill will share her knowledge and advice on perennial planting schemes, herbs, vegetables and flowers.

Floristry extraordinaire Jonathan Moseley, known for his expertise on BBC’s The Big Allotment Challenge, will bring floral theatre to a whole new level with his effervescent displays and engaging demonstrations across the weekend.

Archaeologist and presenter of BBC’s Escape to the Country Jules Hudson will join fellow co-host Nicki Chapman on stage on Sunday to reminisce about working together on the popular TV show for over a decade.

In the Kitchen Theatre, Great British Bakeoff contestant Chigs Parmar is talking about his experience as a lockdown baker during the pandemic at 3.30pm, with more special guests to take part throughout the weekend.
