A GERMAN Shepherd which "could pose a danger to the public" was found after running loose in a Worcestershire village yesterday evening.

Police warned that the dog was loose in the village of Defford yesterday evening (Monday, September 19), and advised the public not to approach it due to safety concerns.

At 10.35pm, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:"Please be aware of a dog that is running loose in the Defford area of Worcestershire.

"The tan and black, long-haired German Shepherd could pose a danger to the public and should not be approached.

"Officers are currently searching the area and if you see the dog, please call 999."

After almost two hours of searching, West Mercia Police confirmed the dog had been found at 00.18am this morning.
