A MALVERN group is set to join a national pro-European Union march this weekend.

Members of Malvern for Europe will be attending the National Rejoin march on Saturday, September 10 in London.

The group will be joined alongside, Worcester and Hereford representatives to join thousands of pro-European Union supporters from all over the UK.

Organisers of the protest have said they will be delivering a ‘clear and loud’ message to the Prime Minister that Brexit has failed and is adding to the cost-of-living crisis.

This is the first large-scale rejoin march, with the organisers also saying they will not give up until the UK is back in Europe.

Peter Corr, joint march organiser from Derby, said: "Every person I talk to is so worried about the cost of living crisis and inflation.

"We must pay attention to experts like Former Bank of England policymaker Adam Posen, who says 80 per cent of the reason the UK has the highest inflation of any G7 country is due to the impact of Brexit on immigration and the labour market.

"Yes, we have left the EU; but we have got over that and now we simply must start a conversation about re-joining the EU."

The full list of confirmed speakers at the march is: Femi Oluwole, Mike Cashman, Siobhan Benita, Madeleina Kay, Steve Bray, Sarah Ludford, Molly Scott Cato, Sue Wilson MBE, Terry Reintke MEP, Lord Andrew Adonis, Julie Ward and Nicola Tipton.

The march will take protesters past the Downing Street entrance, before senior political figures and grassroots leaders address crowds in Parliament Square.
