A DRIVER has been fined hundreds of pounds for exceeding the weight limit of his van in Worcestershire.

Guntis Augucevics drove between junctions 6 and 7 of the M5 on November 21, 2021, when his Ford Transit van exceeded the maximum axle weight for the vehicle.

The 36-year-old admitted the offence at Redditch Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 10 after previously denying it.

Augucevics, of St Thomas Road in Spalding, Lincolnshire, was fined £284 by magistrates. He was also told to pay court costs of £200 and a victim surcharge of £34.
