A CHARITY walking group has celebrated its 12th expedition.
Team Zulu, founded in 2011 by Tarquin Shaw-Young, completed its 12th consecutive and final walk of the Worcestershire Way this month.
The walkers, who are big fans of the film starring Michael Caine, were joined by 117 other walkers helping to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.
The walk included 34 miles in 30C heat, the equivalent of a fifth of the height of Everest in a day.
Mr Shaw-Young said: "Despite extreme the heat the team made it through.
"I say each year - we do the walk so you don't have to - Supporting the hospice in all the amazing work they do is an honour and we are proud to do it.
"I couldn't have had a more dedicated team over the years who have gone on that journey with me each year and a very big thank you to our amazing sponsors."
Collectively, Team Zulu has walked the length of the UK and back for the hospice since 2011, raising more than £40,000.
Team Zulu has also been the subject of a Ramblings Special for Radio 4 featuring Claire Balding as well as having two beers named after it and shooting 12 films documenting each ealk.
After 12 years, the team will now focus on other challenges to help the hospice, to be announced later this year.
