FOUR new homes could be built near a popular park in Malvern if new plans are approved.
Castlethorpe Homes wants to build the houses on the corner of Victoria Park Road in the town.
Approval was already given to build three homes on the site back in 2021, but the developers have since expanded the size of the plot, which is adjacent to number 25, by around 20 per cent allowing for another house to be put in.
The ground floors of the houses will have open plan kitchens and dining areas, with separate lounges.
There are utility rooms for all houses and all have large openings at ground floor level to access the gardens.
The original plans for the site were approved despite criticism from Malvern Hills District Council and Malvern Civic Society, both concerned about the spacing for three homes.

The Malvern Hills District Council conservation response said at the time: "...there are numerous concerns regarding the development as proposed.
"Orientation, line of development, large parking areas to the front of the dwellings, openings and new detailing proposed to the existing Malvern stone wall and lack of details on the dwellings themselves.
"Overall, the development would not be considered to conserve or enhance the character or appearance of the Malvern Link Conservation Area and as such is not supportable from a conservation perspective."
The plans, submitted on June 15, are in a public consultation phase running until August 8.
In their planning statement, the applicant said: "The scheme looks to be a positive addition to the site and has been designed to modern day family living standards.
"The site already benefits from planning permission for three residential units and, therefore, the principle of constructing new dwellings at this site is accepted.
"This proposal seeks to add one additional unit and, therefore, make effective use of the site in line with the guidance in the National Planning Policy Framework."
