A NEW 17-week programme of live music in a prominent Malvern park has begun.

May 8 saw the start of four months of performances to be held in Priory Park, as the Tewkesbury Town Brass Band played in the May sunshine.

Now there are free concerts being held almost every weekend until September 18, with styles including jazz, folk, country, blues and rock and roll.

The programme of music has been drawn up by Malvern Town Council after feedback from the public called for more styles than just the traditional brass bands.

It is hoped the wider range of styles will appeal to a wider audience.

Mayor of Malvern Cllr Nick Houghton said: "It was great to be at the first Malvern Town Council Bands in the Park of 2022.

"The weather was great the attendance was excellent, and we had great feedback from the public.

"We welcome everyone to join us over the summer months."
