A HUNTING knife and flick knife being carried by alleged drug dealers on the city's streets have been recovered by police.

Police arrested two people in relation to supplying drugs and shared pictures of the knives they recovered.

Officers pointed out they were being carried 'in public, middle of the day by individuals supplying drugs'.

A spokesperson from South Worcester Proactive CID team said: "These knives were recovered by the team during two recent arrests in Worcester, they were being carried in public, middle of the day by individuals supplying drugs! #CountyLines"

Councillor Lynn Denham said: “Having had the knife angel in Worcester so recently it’s quite shocking to hear that knives are being carried, presumably with intent to be used, less than five weeks later.

"Not only did we have the knife angel which was a really powerful and emotional statement in Cathedral Square, a lot of knives and weapons were handed in as part of the amnesty and you would hope that would have kept these weapons off of the streets.

"Local officers and the community safety team did a huge amount of work with schools and educational sessions and it’s shocking to hear this.

"It’s a reminder of just how dangerous these weapons are.”
