ARCHIVE and archaeology workshops are being hosted in Worcester over the next two months.

Worcestershire’s Archive and Archaeology Service is hosting a series of workshops at The Hive in May and June.

The events will seek to help people improve their research skills using the county archives and show people more about how to use the Worcestershire Archive’s resources.

Paul Hudson, Outreach manager, at Worcestershire County Council said, "Our workshops are very popular and we are pleased to be able to resume them in The Hive, which allows people to get close to the documents, catalogues and other resources.

“The workshops are a great way of finding out more about the resources here and how they can help you get started or go deeper."

The workshops start with ‘House History’, which will help people discover more about the history of their house or other dwellings, and who lived there in the past.

Original documents, as well as copies, will be on hand for people to see what can be found in the archive collections.

Other workshops will focus on different documents that can be viewed at The Archives.

The events are being held on:

  • Explore House History - Thu 12 May 10am – 1pm
  • Explore Archives – Parish records  - Thu 26 May 10am-1pm
  • Explore Archives – Wills   Thu 16 June 10am-12pm
  • Explore Archives – Finding People in the Archives Thu 23 June 10am-12pm

Prices for the workshops vary between £6 and £16, with places needing to be booked in advance.
