Police in Malvern caught seven drivers speeding in checks carried out yesterday.

West Mercia Police officers were performing checks in Pendock, Hanley Swan and in Hanley Road.

Out of 400 vehicles checked on the day, seven drivers were issued with tickets for exceeding the speed limit of 30mph. 

Several drivers were also given a verbal advisory. 

Malvern Police shared the news on the West Mercia Police website Neighbourhood Matters and on social media via the official Malvern Cops Twitter account.

Neighbourhood Matters is a website where regular police communications and updates are shared.

Yesterday (April 20) police carried out an operation in the town supported by Malvern Hills District Council, the DVSA and HMRC.

In total, they handed out 12 speeding tickets and carried out "enforcement" action against 10 more drivers for other offences.

In a tweet, the Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Today Malvern Safer Neighbourhood team conducted a joint traffic operation with DVSA, HMRC and Malvern Council.

"12 speeding tickets and 10 civil enforcement actions taken against motorists and vehicles."
