THE owner of a popular restaurant was brutally criticised by Gordon Ramsay for his cooking skills.

Amit Panwar, owner of the Marlbank Inn, in Malvern, faced the wrath of the fiery chef in last night's Future Food Stars after serving up raw rabbit.

The teams were tasked with creating a feast for 12 guests that must be cooked and served in the forest.

Each guest paid £50 for the experience.

Mr Panwar thought the team should cook rabbit, despite having never cooked it before and other team members suggested fish as a lighter option.

He said: "I think rabbit makes sense to me.

"I've never cooked with rabbit before but I like throwing myself into a challenge.

"I've got a recipe and a spice blend in mind so I have got no doubt that it's going to be exceptional."

The teams made sample plates and presented them to Ramsay, who was disappointed that Mr Panwar's rabbit was raw.

Ramsay told him that with a touch of fur, the rabbit could be put back in the woods and used a classic Ramsay expletive in his comment.

Ramsay then went on to criticise Mr Panwar's decision to cook rabbit for the first time to serve to paying customers but did enjoy the sauce that Mr Panwar had prepared to accompany his rabbit.

The red team argued consistently throughout the episode, although, unlike last week, Mr Panwar was not central in the team's drama.

However, Mr Panwar made a major mistake when he completely forgot to make two of the 12 meals, claiming that he was flustered by the service.

In the elimination room, Ramsay told the team that 11 out of their 12 guests said they would not have paid for that meal and the team lost the task.

Luckily Mr Panwar was not the contestant Ramsay deemed responsible and he made it through to reappear on the show next week.

Mr Panwar owns the Marlbank Inn, a pub specialising in Indian cuisine on Marlbank Road and is competing on the how for a £150,000 investment in his bottled Indian sauces.
