A POPULAR burger restaurant in Malvern has closed down.

Mackenzies in Graham Road, described as "the best burgers in Malvern" has closed down after its owners decided to move on to other things.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant thanked loyal customers.

It said: "Dear loyal customers and friends,

"It is with great sadness that we can finally confirm the permanent closure of Mackenzies.

"We appreciate all your custom and would like to thank you all for being such loyal supporters of ours.

"We have enjoyed being a part of the Malvern community and loved sharing our food with you, however, it is now time for us to close our doors and seek new ventures.

"Once again, thank you for all your support and wishing you all the very best and a wonderful 2022."

Earlier this year the restaurant closed "until further notice" while repairs and maintenance were carried out.

Before this, it was closed during the Christmas period for the same reason.

Offering homemade gourmet burgers, American-style hotdogs, pancakes and milkshakes, Mackenzies was popular with people in the town for a number of years.

Many residents took to Facebook to express their sadness at the closure.

Samantha Greetham wrote: "This is terrible news!

"We loved Mackenzie's - your food was fantastic and Malvern didn't have anything like what you were offering.

"We are so very sad to see you go, and wish you all the best in your future venture."

Emma Judson called it "The best place I have eaten in Malvern in the decade I've been here in terms of food, value and customer service."

The news of the hugely-popular restaurant's closure saw people from across Worcestershire react with sadness, with people regularly travelling from Worcester to eat at Mackenzies.
