A man has been charged with murdering a "hero" father from Malvern.
Paul Hawkesford-Barnes, 57, was found fatally injured at an address in Coventry last Tuesday.
Now, West Midlands Police have charged Steven Barnes with his murder.
The 64-year-old of Radford, Coventry, has also been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in her 90s.
The woman remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Barnes appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (March 21) and was remanded to appear before the Crown Court on Wednesday.
Police add that the case is being treated as "domestic-related" and that enquiries to establish what happened are ongoing.
Last week, Mr Hawkesford-Barnes' son , Kyle Barnes, paid tribute to his late father.
He said: “I thought I had years ahead with you. You died my hero."
