A pool in Malvern has closed this weekend after a technical difficulty.

Malvern Splash will not open again until at least Monday with the pool needing to be refilled following a unforeseen problem.

All bookings have been cancelled as a result.

A manager at the leisure centre said: “We are just refilling the pool due to a technical difficulty over night.

“We hope to be open by Monday morning at the latest.

“As it stands everything is going well but we should definitely be open for Monday.”

The closure was announced on Facebook, with many parents disappointed.

Daniel Nash commented: “Just received the email, our kids are gutted, that’s twice this week they have been turned away.

“So yet again told our kids ‘sorry can’t go’.

“Half term and huge disappointments. Doesn’t look like this year will get any better during school holidays especially when Worcester pool is closed for the summer.

“Freedom leisure = disappointment!”

Responding to the comment, Malvern Splash commented: “Unfortunately the pool closure today was something completely unavoidable and out of our control.

“All of our staff are working very hard to try and get the centre up and running as soon as possible.

“Our booking slots for February half term has been open since the first week of January. Apologies you couldn’t get a space for the waves and slides sessions earlier in the week.”

It continued: “In terms of Perdiswell’s pool closure this is for maintenance work that needs doing and as you can imagine they will try and get that done as soon as they can.

“We are very sorry you feel our company is a disappointment and we really are doing everything we can to keep everyone happy.”
