THIS is the emotional moment two rain-soaked dogs bound up to their owner in a dark car park after going missing on hills.

A huge seven-hour search was sparked with hundreds of strangers offering help after owner Anna Spencer posted on Facebook about her missing Spaniels Fraggle and Doozer.

And a friend managed to video the heartwarming moment the dogs came running back into the dark car park and into the arms of their relieved owner.

The pair had run off together after a walk at St Wulstan's Nature Reserve, Malvern Wells, at 3pm on Tuesday.

Miss Spencer, from Malvern Wells, said: "It was horrendous.

"They have this way of looking at each other like 'Let's just go' but they usually return in ten minutes.

"I was devastated, I have a ten-year-old daughter who has grown up with them and I didn't know how I would tell her."

The 42-year-old put a plea on Facebook asking people to check their gardens and land which was shared over 3,000 times.

People began offering support including flying a drone over the nature reserve, carrying out foot searches and even bringing hot chocolate for Miss Spencer.

Malvern Gazette:

Miss Spencer said: "People who didn't even know me were just turning up and asking what they could do to help.

"They were so kind.

"Over the seven hours people just kept messaging and turning up - one man walked his dog then returned to search for another two hours.

"Everyone wanted a good outcome and I am just so grateful to everyone for their support.

"I knew they must have been stuck down a badger hole but even when we were quiet we couldn't hear them barking."

Friends thought someone may have found the dogs and were keeping them until the morning, urging Miss Spencer to return home.

Malvern Gazette:

Just as a reluctant Miss Spencer returned to the car park to leave, the Fraggle and Doozer came bounding towards her.

"I was hysterical just all the emotions came up and it was such a relief.

"They were filthy but were typical Spaniels, wagging their tails.

"I was just so grateful. People were in tears with me, I can't describe what it felt like but as horrible as it was I felt really supported and the community really came together."

The search has also sparked a Malvern Dog Rescue group to be set up on Facebook with volunteers willing to help find other missing dogs.

Fraggle and Doozer are now enjoying cuddles with ten-year-old Effie and have spent most of the time sleeping off their adventure.

"They are fine, they are absolutely shattered and were absolutely ravenous."
