MUSIC lovers in Malvern can enjoy one of the most iconic sounds in music next month.

Malvern Theatres is playing host to the Pink Floyd Experience on February 11.

Playing a mix of the band's best-known songs from Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and more, the band recreates some of the atmosphere of the real thing featuring projections and lights on a large circular screen.

Bass player and vocalist David Power said: “We are always pleased with the positive reaction to the show, it seems we leave audiences on a Pink Floyd high.”

A spokesman for the show said: "It’s time to get comfortably numb as the greatest Pink Floyd tribute takes the UK by storm with their ever popular, critically acclaimed touring show.

"For fans of Pink Floyd, there is no greater tribute. Experience the incredible music of England’s more progressive and psychedelic rock band in a show like no other."

Pink Floyd actually performed in Malvern in the 1960s.

A show at the Winter Gardens, now Malvern Theatres, in 1967 came just before the release of the band's debut album Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

From the early 1960s until the 90s, Malvern Winter Gardens - now Malvern Theatres - rocked to the sounds of bands such The Jam, The Kinks, The Who, Pink Floyd, Motorhead, Hawkwind and more.
