POLICE are renewing their efforts to fight speeding in and around Malvern this week.

Officers are out in Malvern checking speeds in and around the Priory, Pickersleigh and Chase wards of the town.

This is after repeated concerns over dangerous driving in the area.

In recent months, speed checks have been carried out on a number of occasions, with communities calling for more to be done to combat the issue.

In Leigh Sinton, there have been at least four incidents of cars crashing into walls in the village.

A community meeting in the Royal Oak pub last year saw around 20 residents meet to voice their concerns.

At the meeting, it was said that 10 people had been caught speeding in just one hour in the village.

An urgent notice of motion was put forward in July last year by a group of councillors concerned over speeding.
