I am encouraged by Cllr Hitchiner's January Leader's Newsletter.

His clarity of language, showing awareness of audience and attitude to service, invites engagement.

Likewise, Cllr Harvey's Youtube video on the new Herefordshire Local Plan 2021-2041 Spatial Options consultation shows commitment to building consensus based on clear information and informed debate.

In contrast, the national communications, whether government, media or NHS England confuse and distress me.

Our country seems in the hands of people following inadequate guidelines.

Clarity of thought is needed to face difficult decisions.

I question whether we value creative, collaborative outcomes sufficiently.

Self-serving recklessness can damage society, yet make fortunes for the few.

Present day instant messaging and emotional response obscure fundamental problems.

Internet developments have enabled travel-free exchange of ideas and information.

It has also made enabled extreme behaviour and values.

Isolation has concentrated my mind and forced me to work much harder on finding my own way through.

I want greater attention to the understanding of human limitations.

We have to create a better order to look after ourselves and the planet better.

Mind and body, in isolation and in society, we need to find the spirit to work together.

I believe in Herefordshire and Talk Community hubs.

We need forums where proposals can be openly discussed and problems identified early.

Then we can begin to become a safe and active place of wellbeing for all.
