A MALVERN school has been celebrating a recent Ofsted report, which highlighted the sixth form as outstanding, and rated the school’s overall effectiveness as “good”.

The sixth form was said to provide exceptional academic and pastoral support to ensure that all students become increasingly independent learners, across the full range of courses they study.

The report went on to mention that students feel happy at school and make strong progress, with leaders setting high expectations and bullying is dealt with efficiently and effectively.

It also refers to a small minority of pupils who struggle to stick to the rules, but said they receive effective support to help them understand how to make the right choices in the future.

This is the latest Ofsted report since 2016 and follows the trend of continued success the school has received in previous reports dating back to 2011.

Headteacher of The Chase, Mike Fieldhouse, said: “I am delighted that Ofsted have recognised all the excellent work going on here at The Chase, and that this report has confirmed that we are well on our way to reaching an outstanding rating.

“This is the culmination of five years of hard work since our last inspection and I am very pleased that the continued excellence and high quality of education at The Chase has been confirmed by Ofsted.

“This latest report is perhaps even more satisfying, considering the difficulties we have all had to face in providing the best education possible during the past two years of the Covid pandemic.

“We look forward to continuing to support The Chase as it pushes to achieve even greater heights in the future.”

The school had two specific areas where they hope to improve on in the report.

One was to ensure all staff implement the behaviour policy consistently and another was giving students more opportunities to engage with diverse communities and experience different cultures.
