A GIRL from Malvern has written and published her first book, all to raise money for good causes.

Bethany Lunney originally wrote "Goodbye Granny Rose " when she was in Year 6.

The book was so well received that the 11 year-old has been encouraged to have it published.

This she did, and now all money made from selling the book will be going to the Acorns Children's Hospice.

Bethany's mum Lynette said: "We have actually sold out of all the 100 first copies printed.

"We are waiting for the second print for people waiting for a book.

"The feedback has been incredible and I’m so glad everyone is enjoying the book and what a fantastic charity to raise money for.

"It’s beyond anything we believed could happen and it’s so wonderful."

The 88-page book involves main character Jade Macintosh, who lives with her grandmother in Scotland.

When her grandmother falls ill, Jade has to work out who will take care of her and how.

So far, Bethany's fundraising page has reached more than £700 for the charity, which helps seriously ill children and their families across the country.
