AN investigation is underway after reports of drink spiking at a Malvern pub.

Police are looking into reports of spiking at the Unicorn in Bellevue Terrace.

Resident Roxy Wells had shared a post on social media in which she claimed to have had her drink spiked while out at the pub between November 12 and 13.

The post, shared widely on Facebook, said: "On Friday night I was spiked while I was in a pub in Great Malvern.

"I’m very lucky that nothing happened. As soon as I realised I’d been spiked my friend took me home and I was able to sleep it off.

"I’ve been told there are covers you can buy for your drinks so I’m going to look into purchasing them as I wouldn’t want it happening again, to me or anyone else.

"There have been articles about drinks being spiked recently but I didn’t ever think it would happen in Malvern."

She went on to say she does not blame the pub itself for the spiking. There is no suggestion anyone from the Unicorn was involved.

Miss Wells later revealed via her post on the Malvern UK Noticeboard page that she was in contact with the pub's management who had invited her along to check the CCTV.

West Mercia Police said they were investigating a report of a drink spiking at a business in Bellevue Terrace.

A spokesperson for the Unicorn said: “The safety of our guests and our team, has always been, and remains, our number one priority and we continually review our safety and security procedures to ensure our guests and staff remain safe.

"We treat all allegations of spiking seriously and we are working with the police in their investigation and will provide our CCTV footage to them.”
