A ROW has broken out between a man who says he travelled a long distance for a Covid vaccine and a protester at the Three Counties Showground.

Peace protesters have blocked a gate at the site, which is currently hosting the Three Counties Defence and Security Expo (3CDSE).

The row broke out after an angry man said he had travelled from Somerset - a round trip of a 180 miles - for his Covid vaccine.

He claimed his jab appointment was cancelled and organisers had blamed protesters.

Protesters say that Covid jabs were already cancelled due to the defence fair.

However, the Three Counties Showground said it is closed for vaccines today except for people whose second-dose booster eligibility is May 6.

A spokesperson for SW Healthcare, who manage the Three Counties Vaccination Centre, said: "No Covid-19 vaccinations have been cancelled today and booked appointments are still taking place at the Malvern Showground.

"Any NHS staff or those arriving for their vaccination appointment will be given access and patients should continue to attend for their vaccination if they are booked to do so.

"Patients who are looking to attend the Three Counties Showground for a walk-in appointment can visit https://www.swhealthcare.org.uk/walk-in-vaccines-worcestershire to see our latest schedule, or visit nhs.uk/grab-a-jab to view available walk-in locations across the region."
