THE funeral of a popular teacher at a Malvern school who has died at the age of 83 will be shown on the internet, the family have said.

We previously reported Mark Ranasinghe who worked at The Chase School in the 1980s and 1990s before retirement, died on September 30 after a short illness in hospital.

Tributes have flooded in for the teacher, including from David Fawbert, who was headmaster of the school when Mr Ranasinghe was teaching, who said he was "well-liked by the children he taught, and much respected in the staffroom".

His funeral service is taking place at Hereford Crematorium on Wednesday, November 3, at 2.15pm.

His son Jude said some of tributes left for him will be read out at the funeral.
