WEST Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) staff have paid their respects to a colleague who died last month.

Hundreds lined the route at Hereford Crematorium on Thursday morning, August 19, to remember WMAS paramedic Jon Murray.

Pictures were posted on WMAS's social media, with a spokesman saying: "Around 200 staff from the service joined family and friends at Hereford Crematorium to pay respects to much loved colleague, Jon Murray.

"Jon, who had 20 years service, was highly thought of and will be sadly missed by all that knew him at West Midlands Ambulance Service, especially by his work family at Hereford hub."

The spokesman added that Jon would "forever be in our ambulance hearts".

People also paid their respects on the social media post. Julie Green said: "RIP and thank you for all the good you have done in the ambulance service."

Debbie Perks said: "RIP Jon thank you for you for your friendship and service time for rest now."

Ian Gomes Walker said: "Rest in peace dear friend," while Edward Gringebotham added: "It was a pleasure to have known you Jon. Rest in peace."
