THE new Mayor of Malvern is calling on the town's photographers to submit their snaps for a charity calendar.

Cllr Nick Houghton is launching the 2022 calendar this autumn, themed around "Abstract Assets".

The challenge is to take a photograph which is an abstract portrayal of a Malvern Town Council Asset.

The asset may not be easily identifiable from your photograph, but all will become clear when seen alongside a standard photo and description.

Beacon Camera Club has offered its services to help with the submission of competition entries and photographs can be submitted via their website by filling out the online form and uploading your digital image.

Tony McDonnell, club chair, said he was delighted to have been invited to support the Mayor’s Charity Calendar Photographic Competition.

The competition is in support of the two charities that the Mayor has nominated this year which are ‘What Makes you Different, Makes you Beautiful’ and ‘The Outreach Project’

Mr McDonnell said: “Malvern is a delightfully photogenic place with many hidden gems which you may not always notice.

"The request to provide abstract images of Malvern Town Council assets is going to make this competition both challenging and exciting."

The competition closes at 10am on Wednesday, September 1 and the judging panel will include the Cllr Houghton, his consort Sean Austin, the chairman of Beacon Camera Club Tony McDonnell, Ian Collins of Colcards and councillors Cynthia Palmer and Peter Smith from the Town Council.

Those images that are chosen to be the best will be featured on the charity calendar for 2022.

The image should be in landscape to appear at its best in the calendar.

Please visit Malvern Town Council’s website for full details and links to submit your images.

There is also a list of locations for images to go on the calendar as it will feature assets owned or maintained by the Town Council. www.malverntowncouncil.org
